What
to expect?
I begin with a discussion of your medical history and a postural
assessment. This lets me know the patterns which currently
exist within your body and where to focalize treatment for
the greatest results. If you have X-rays or MRIs, by
all means bring them, as the more information I have the better
I will be able to help you. It is helpful to bring loose shorts/
underwear and a sports bra for women, as this makes some techniques
easier during treatment.

Deep relaxation is essential for the body to heal, but relaxation
is a key to accessing deeper layers of the body, rather than
an end in itself.

Will
it hurt?
I work within your comfort zone, which varies from person
to person, and varies within different areas within your body.
To be sure, there are times when it is best to push the edges
of your comfort, but the intent is to release your tissues,
not to traumatize them further. You are always in control
of the depth of my pressure. Occasional soreness or discomfort
may occur following the treatment, but should subside in about
24 hours, leaving you feeling much better than before. Some
steps to take to reduce this possible soreness include: drinking
extra water, taking vitamin C, taking homeopathic arnica,
taking a hot bath afterwards.

How
many treatments will I need?
That depends on many factors, such as: What are your goals?
Do you just want to be able to put on your shirt without pain?
Or do you want to fine tune your body for peak athletic performance?
It also depends on factors such as diet and nutrition, overall
health and well-being, stress level, emotional state, age,
etc. You should notice a significant improvement after the
first treatment, though it typically requires 4-6 treatments
to make long term changes. More treatments may be required
for complicated patterns, or for the fine tuning that some
people desire. A good rule of thumb is to receive 1 or 2 treatments
after all symptoms are gone to make sure things are in proper
working condition. I expect to make consistent and noticeable
progress with our work together, otherwise I will happily
refer you to another practitioner.

Ultimately it is up to you. My aim is to assist you in your
healing process and self-empowerment, not to create a feeling
of dependency.
