Asheville Massage & Yoga InstructionWelcome to Body Wisdom

There is an inherent wisdom in the body, which contains all subconscious knowledge, memory, and emotions. The body is the bridge between the conscious and subconscious aspects of ourselves, and is a reflection of every aspect of our being. When there is insufficient communication between the conscious and subconscious aspects of ourselves, problems arise. Pain is one of the signals of this disharmony: it lets us know when something needs to be changed, and prevents us from damaging ourselves further. The human body has an amazing capacity to compensate for stress, which includes the stress of faulty alignment or bio mechanics. When our body has reached the limit of our adaptive capacity, pain and dysfunction arise, often in an area distant from the original problem. In order to achieve lasting results, it is important to identify and treat the source of the problem.

Our Approach

Yoga and therapeutic massage are excellent ways of deepening the awareness of our body, and of the mental and emotional patterns which contribute to stress and pain. Yoga and bodywork are also both effective means of realigning our bodies with gravity, allowing us to live with greater ease, vitality, and freedom from pain.

At Body Wisdom Therapeutic Massage and Yoga Instruction, we are lifelong students of the mysteries of the body, and advanced practitioners of the movement and healing arts.

We offer various types of therapeutic massage and bodywork, as well as group and private yoga instruction very conveniently located in the Asheville North Carolina area
